I can't find it, either, but there was an earlier thread, maybe about a year ago, on thios topic. As I recall, Tommy Hudson removed the tank decals and reported that removal left decal-shaped depressions in the clear coat, or where the clear coat had been. He also reported, I believe, that he didn't mind that effect.
